Through painting, drawing and sculpture, Emma Bennett depicts post-war architecture to make a claim for its beauty and social importance. Slant and Tower (Version 2) refer to the Middlesbrough Tower and adjoining Constantine Building on the Teesside University campus where Bennett studied MA Fine Art. The shapes derive from the shape of the external architecture. The colour and patterns arise from Bennett's memory and lived understanding of the buildings.
Slant was on display in Working Lives 25 Apr - 29 Sep 2024.
